Jordan Baseman


Jordan Baseman is a visual artist, filmmaker and head of Sculpture programme at the Royal College of Art. He is currently artist in residence for the University of Lincoln at Lincoln Law School and has had recent solo exhibitions at Matt’s Gallery, London and the Museum of Modern Art in Oxford.

July the Twelfth

Thirty one states in the US still have the death penalty, this animated film depicts an execution in one of them – Georgia – in 1984. Using the actual audio recording of the execution, the film tackles issues of human rights, freedom of information and the controversial nature of capital punishment.

Part of The Collection’s “Freedom Lies” exhibit which continues after the festival until 24th January 2016.
