We all want to be ‘liked’ and ‘followed’.
What effect does constantly performing for the camera have on our lives?
Vincent Dance Theatre’s VIRGIN TERRITORY is a multi-layered film installation with moving, resilient performances at its core, taking an uncompromising look the impact our hyper-sexualised culture is having on girls and young women. Performed by four teenagers and four adults and featuring real-life testimonies, this stunning 75-minute installation is screened simultaneously across five large televisions.
Charlotte Vincent formed Vincent Dance Theatre (VDT) in 1994 and has directed all the company’s work. Vincent devised and performed in VDT’s work until 2002 and has designed the company’s work since 2005. The ensemble devises collaborative, interdisciplinary performance work that challenges conventional values in dance and gender politics.
