INTER/HER  is an immersive installation and VR experience that focuses on post-reproductive diseases and pain over 40’s women or those with female organs experience. It’s an intimate, emotional and haunting experience that’s accompanied by a wearable haptic garment that provides a visceral vibration response on the lower body where the diseases, occur alongside a 3D audio soundscape of real personal accounts.

Based on Baker’s experience and journey through the healthcare system while she was treated for a post-reproductive disease in 2016. The ideas and development of the work emanates from experiencing silence, conflicting information, and inconsistencies in support.

This is a 40-minute experience for groups of up to 3 people, places are free and times so pre-booking is suggested.

About the artist(s)

Camille Baker, an artist-performer, researcher, and curator, is a true pioneer in immersive experiences, participatory performance, interactive art, and tech fashion. Her diverse work spans various art forms, blending XR, haptics, e-textiles, and mobile media to explore non-verbal communication, extended embodiment, and presence in real and mixed reality contexts.

Camille’s art, including her acclaimed work “INTER/her: An Intimate Journey Inside the Female Body,” captivates audiences and challenges traditional boundaries. She’s also a Senior Tutor for the Digital Direction Masters Programme at the Royal College of Art.
