The People's Market - Human Studio
21st February - 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Location - LINCOLN CENTRAL LIBRARY LN2 1EZ ///honey.rests.bunk
Lincoln’s marketplaces have always been spaces of exchange, not only for goods but for ideas, debate, and collective action. The People’s Market: Everyday Activists of Lincoln is an augmented reality experience that transforms the historic marketplace into a living archive of
activism, revealing the hidden stories of ordinary people who changed their world through small, powerful acts. Through community co-creation and participatory workshops, the project will reimagine the market as a meeting ground of past and present activism, from 18th-century sugar boycotts to modern grassroots campaigns.
At this relaxed, drop-in session, you’re invited to try out a work-in-progress AR prototype, share your thoughts, and get creative by designing a badge. These designs will be turned into 3D objects and featured in the project, helping shape the final experience.

Access information
Accessibility is central to the design and delivery of this project. The mobile-based experiences are developed to be inclusive, intuitive and open to all, ensuring that as many people as possible can engage with the content in ways that suit them.
The project team will also work closely with local communities throughout the process, helping to shape content that reflects a diverse range of voices, perspectives and lived experiences.
Sustainability information
By using digital augmented reality rather than physical installations, the project minimises material waste and energy use, making it more environmentally sustainable.
