Frequency Festival FAQs

Do we need tickets to get into the festival?

No. Experiences take place across the city so you can walk around Lincoln at your own pace. Some installations are ticketed and will need to be pre-booked online. The link to ticketed events can be found in the programme information.

Are the events accessible for disabled visitors?

We have tried to make all experiences as accessible as possible. Full guide to all events will be available in early 2026.  For general access information about the city itself click here: https://www.visitlincoln.com/plan-your-visit/accessibility-information/

Are the events suitable for young children?

Most events are family friendly. However, some events will require parental consideration.

Can I bring my dog?

Of course. If you have a collar that lights up even better!

Can I park in the city centre?

Lincoln has several car parks. You can find details here

Will there be food and drink stalls?

As part of our commitment to supporting local businesses we are encouraging city food and drink businesses to stay open rather than supporting non-local vendors. Some of these may set up pop-up eateries.

Will there be flashing lights?

Yes, many of the attractions will feature flashing lights.

How long will it take to see everything?

We recommend allowing an hour to walk the festival trail. But some attractions are interactive and may require more time. We suggest you come along for the afternoon/evening and enjoy everything Lincoln has to offer at your own pace.

Will things be cancelled if the weather is bad?

While we don’t mind getting a bit soggy (rain has never dampened our enthusiasm or that of the visitors) we always put safety first. In the event of adverse conditions that will impact public safety we will make the right call and will inform visitors as best we can ahead of time via our website and social platforms.

What is the best time to visit?

It is easy to spend a day or two in Lincoln – there is so much to see and do. Given the light-based nature of the festival we recommend you stay around until it gets dark – around 4.30pm.
