Annie Morrad is an internationally exhibited artist, musician and lecturer. Her art practice incorporates music; installation; photography; painting; drawing; performance; video and sound. She also plays tenor saxophone. She produces artwork that considers interaction, interconnection and encounters with non-human species.

What does the theme ‘Emergence’ mean to you/your practice?
‘Emergence’ gives space for an idea or discovery to arise from the process of making an artwork.
What do you love most about being a part of our festival?
The unique coming together of many diverse practices.
What would you like the audience to take away from experiencing your work?
Curiosity and an encounter with otherness.
How does your art connect with the local culture of Lincoln?
I produce artwork at a public location in Lincoln, one where humans and non-humans interrelate.
What message or emotion do you aim to convey through your work?
Empathy.
Could you describe the feeling you get when you see your art resonating with people?
I smile. I am honoured.
