20 October, 2013

On Cornhill today 5 local artists are exhibiting their work for one day only as part of Frequency Festival. Here’s a little more information about each artist, come along to look at the varied work on display.

Adele Billinghay – Glass Artist

Adele’s work is all made from recycled glass and old windows. Adele makes and designs all her own work through using photographs she has taken or hand painting patterns. All her pieces are unique and one of a kind. She has recently exhibited her work at the Usher Gallery and will soon be exhibiting at Doddington Hall and NCCD in Sleaford. You can find her, and her work, online and on Facebook.

Jeanine Marteau – Photographer and Jewelry Maker

Jeanine is a freelance photographer and make jewelry as a hobby, or as she describes it ” a therapeutic past time”. Her work mainly consists of beaded characters (pacman for example) and patterns. She sells her work on Etsy (an online store) and you can find her online.

Graham Cooling – T-shirt Designer and Printer

Graham illustrates all his t-shirts himself and every image has a backstory. For example one t-shirt is inspired by a quote from Salvador Dali “Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.” Having a stimulus puts Graham’s skills to use through the designing process. Visit his website.

Kate Francis – Illustrator

Kate studied illustration at Derby University but is from Lincoln originally. She started her own business from her sttdio in Lincoln, where she receives photographs of customers homes which she then draws. Visit her website.
