Dive into the fascinating world of light-art sculpture with artist Graham Fudger. In this hands-on workshop, Graham brings a collection of intriguing materials into the studio, including prisms, mirrors, lenses, and acrylics.
Here, you’ll explore the technical and aesthetic aspects of crafting art with colour and light. Discover the spectral qualities of light, create scale models that react to light using LEDs and acrylic filters, and ponder the mysteries of mirrors in relation to the camera obscura. Get ready for some optical wonders, including examining your smartphone screen under a microscope to guess the colour of the hidden orange in a light-tight box.

About the artist(s)
Graham Fudger is a versatile contemporary artist with a background in 3D and digital media. Trained at the University of Westminster with a BA and MA, he brings a unique perspective to his art. Previously, Graham spent fifteen years as a portrait photographer and picture editor in the magazine industry.
Notably, he introduced the Man Booker longlist to Anthony Gormley’s Fourth Plinth in London. His work has been published on the s[edition] platform, and he’s represented by Noon Powell in London. Graham’s recent endeavours include a year-long study of Colour in Contemporary Art, funded by the Arts Council, culminating in a residency at Sir Isaac Newton’s family home, courtesy of the National Trust.
